This pattern is a reproduction of a cross stitch embroidery from 1846.
The groom’s shirt is preserved at Dalarnas Museum, identification number DM 05584.
It features a symmetrical heart with the text “Brudepar” (Bride and Groom), the couple’s initials, and the year.
The heart is embroidered in dark pink and baby blue, incorporating several different geometric grid patterns, triangles, and eight-pointed roses.
You can embroider the cross stitch piece in any colors you like, and you can also stitch the entire pattern in a single color.
Embroidered using full cross stitches and backstitch with two strands of DMC embroidery floss on Aida or linen.
Suitable for a 30cm × 30cm frame.
The finished size depends on the fabric you choose:
Aida 5.4 stitches/cm or 11 thread linen: 25 x 23 cm
Aida 6.4 stitches/cm or 12.6 thread linen: 22 x 20 cm
