The pattern with eight-petalled roses and birds is a reproduction of one of Sweden\u2019s oldest surviving cross-stitch embroideries, an embroidered cloth believed to date from the sixteenth century. The textile belonged to \u00d6verenh\u00f6rna Church, located southwest of Stockholm. It was donated to the Swedish History Museum in 1875.

When creating this pattern from a photograph, I was unable to determine which areas were worked in cross stitch and which were worked in the long-armed stitch. For the sake of simplicity, I have used full cross stitches only.<\/p>\n
